| Message | In keeping with longstanding party policy, we are opposed to any tax hike on essentials, no matter how small. Taxes can't be abolished altogether, and the luxury tax is the one that should be retained as the least evil of the necessary evils of taxation. |

| Message | I would prefer that neither the luxury nor the essentials tax were completely done away with. Having a value of 0 makes analysis of the consumption impossible, having a value of .01 makes it possible, but unnoticeable. If you look at my other budget bill, you can see that I am consistent on this. |
