Members of the Assemblage, It is time we show our farmers that we care! This act has two benefits: 1. It gives some farmers assistance to continue farming important crops, when prices may be low. 2. It will ensure that plant species important to the survival of our people are preserved. I hope for a swift resolution to this matter. Thank you, Ryan Bentz Minister of Food and Agriculture |

Message | "The LDP acknowledges the positive intent of the FPV, but we cannot support this proposal. If a private organisation, such as a farm, cannot sustain itself in its current form then it must reform and re-establish itself until it is efficient enough to maintain itself. By subsidising certain organisations, we're encouraging them to run inefficiently as they will always turn to the Government when times get tough. It's an unnecessary burden on the tax-payers. Instead, we should be encouraging these organisations to become efficient and sustainable by forcing them to reform and develop better business practices at times when they are otherwise unprofitable. We understand that it is easy for politicians to fall into the trap of sympathising with those who say "Oh, but it's a vital industry". If it really is such a vital industry, demand will always exist. It is a economic principle is that where-ever there is demand, a supply will always arise. We should be leaving this to market forces, not forcing our citizens to cough up for the poor administration of a failing business."
