Message | Assuming that other parties will not change their votes, do the Social Democrats support this? |

Message | Against. Prematurely destroying life when far better alternatives exist is wrong, and also damaging to the economy. |

Message | Damaging for the economy? That is news to me. |

Message | Perhaps the LIP could explain just how abortion damages the economy. |

Message | The Rutania Social Democrat Party is divided on the issue, and therefore we will withhold our decision on the matter for a while. However, should this Act fail to pass, we shall propose an Act expanding abortion rights to the third trimester in case of a medical emergency or in the case of rape (under certain circumstances). |

Message | "Damaging for the economy? That is news to me." Less people = less workers = less productivity = smaller economy. Wasted money on abortion clinics = less money spent on useful, none destructive things. |

Message | More people with the same number of jobs = more unemployed = more government spending = more taxation = smaller economy. It all depends on how you look at it. ;-) |

Message | More people = more businesses will be started by those people = same result. If you're seriously suggesting that we should kill vast swathes of the nation at birth so that we dont need to provide unemployment benefit then you are seriously deranged. |

Message | What the Rutania Social Democrats highlight is that the pseudo-economic reasoning about abortion can go both ways. We therefore reject this pseudo-eugenics reasoning either way, and consider what *matters* which is the health of women and the freedom to choose. OOC: A conservative pundit in the USA advocated that "[Y]ou could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down" for example http://mediamatters.org/items/200509280006 |

Message | OOC: That guy is an idiot, instead of tackling the true causes of the higher criminality rates amongst the black population of the US he abuses statistics for his own racist agenda. The true causes of the higher criminality rates amongst the blakc population of the US are poverty and, racism discrimination (the poverty is in turn also caused by discrimination and racism). |

Message | * That should've been "racism and discrimination" |

Message | OOC: I agree he is an idiot. Just to point out how with stupid reasoning, you can go anywhere. |

Message | Erm guys, saying that aborting every black baby would reduce the crime rate is logical, less people, less crimes. Aborting every white baby would do the same, crime would go down. Rates wouldnt though. |

Message | Which isn't what the speaker means at all. He's blaming crime on black children, who if we aborted, we'd all be better off. |
