MessageFreedom propose the following cabinet as a way to end the impasse which exists in Rutanian politics currently. We appreciate it is not ideal for all parties involved but would like to remind any concerned parties that the people of Rutania must have a functioning government.

Furthermore Freedom feel it has been proven that elections themselves, at least in the short term, are unlikely to change things dramatically by way of a clear majorities and therefore cooperation is essential at this time in order to face Rutania's challenges and to continue building on our Constitutional and Procedural work that the nation desperately needs.

MessageWe appreciate the gesture of the Prime Minister and PUOO to accept the idea of an all-party cabinet, a model that was rejected not so long ago. We also find highly wise the remark of the PM that " it has been proven that elections themselves, at least in the short term, are unlikely to change things dramatically by way of a clear majorities and therefore cooperation is essential". The REP is willing to conform itself to this idea.

However we cannot support this proposal, for various reasons. First of all it lacks proportionality, the FP being given 5 offices among which that of the PM, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Finance. Taking into consideration the current weight of the FP, this allocation is not the most appropriate one.

Essentially we are not concerned with the numbers but with the significance of ministries. We would support a cabinet in which we are given the second highest position, i.e Foreign Office, the REP being the largest political force of the Commonwealth. We believe that the OP might also have problems with this proposal.

These remarks do not mean that we are not willing to co-operate. But we are willing to co-operate on the basis of mutual trust, and not of exploitation.

Patrick Sinclair,
President of the REP

MessageFreedom will accomodate the REP's proposal, however it would seem a little odd for the Prime Minister's party to have less seats in the cabinet than the Opposition therefore we will move into the Justice Ministry in order to maintain parity with the REP.

We shall draw up this new cabinet proposal immediately.
