Bill: Bill concerning the protection of the personal identity and the right to privacy

Details

Submitted by[?]: Utilitarian Party of Solentia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2932

Description[?]:

The right to privacy and to the protection of identity are among the most fundamental rights any open society may use in order to defend itself against the abuses of the government. In the extreme cases of a legally dominant party, the Utilitarian Party finds it of the uttermost importance to protect the rights of the people in the unfortunate case a totalitarian government were to be established. It is a violation of the privacy and of the identity of the citizens for the government to know the faith of its inhabitants.
The government may know the number of its inhabitants and the use of its yearly budget, but it is not a must to know personal information nor to accidentally try to impose quotas. On the same line of thought, the privacy of the citizens is to always be respected. The arrest and/or detention of any suspects shall be based on concrete motives. Therefore, it is not needed for the citizens to carry their national identity card at all times, since it shall only be required in the event of a complete police investigation.
At last, the state provisions concerning the funding of the sports clubs do not explicitly protect the right to found a non-conforming club in the midst of an intolerant legislation. The funding of the afore mention clubs needs to open the possibility for private-clubs to operate side by side with the public ones.

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost.

Random quote: "We have to face the fact that either all of us are going to die together or we are going to learn to live together, and if we are to live together we have to talk." - Eleanor Roosevelt
