Bill: Education for Rutanians Act of 2932
Details
Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Restoration Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2934
Description[?]:
The Orange Party proposes creating a public school system along with the private institutions that already exist. These schools would be funded, however, by regional governments with grants being given by the federal government. This is why the budget for education has a proposed increase in the recently proposed federal budget. Secondary education will be provided by regional governments, and higher education universities will remain private, with the exception of vocational schools and some colleges, which will be maintained, again, by local governments. -Adam Vandermark, Prime Minister |

Date | 01:00:51, May 03, 2010 CET | From | Reform Party | To | Debating the Education for Rutanians Act of 2932 |
Message | The Reform Party supports this legislation in its entirety. Government closer to home is always more accountable government, and local governments are more responsive to the needs of the families and communities they represent. Education is an area where the concerns of locals are of particular importance, as parents should naturally be able to have as much influence as possible over how and what their children are taught. Decentralizing government authority over education will also ensure that the federal government cannot exercise a tyrannical control over the curriculum and inject into it contentious, politically motivated subjects. |
