Message | Prime Minister Mervyn Bijai, Mr Speaker, as everyone knows the HNP is firmly committed to democracy. This Act will increase the legitimacy of our Parliament by putting parties to the peoples scruting every two years instead of the normal four years. This Act will radically reform our Parliamentary system for the better. |

Message | Mr Speaker, whilst we must have regular elections, it is also important that a government has a realistic timeframe in which to govern. We support the status quo. |
Date | 18:44:55, May 10, 2010 CET | From | Labour Party | To | Debating the Parliament Act |
Message | Mr Speaker, Such a short timeframe is not enough for a government to be effective in its governing, we oppose. |
