Bill: No More Farm Subsidies.

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal-Progressive Union

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2137

Description[?]:

This eliminates one of the many subsidies our government gives out. We shouldn't be the personal bank for every failing buisness or the unemployed. These farmers will still receive government monetary support through our welfare laws, and if they have children they get even more Crowns. We must make our citizens self reliant.

MessageEnough of these subsidies, it's draining our bank accounts.

MessageYour bill description does not correspond to the proposal value. At present no subsidies are given to farmers, instead the government owns certain farms and runs them as businesses. For all you know these may even be making a profit (we don't have good enough stats to see otherwise).

MessageAs the UB points out, we don't provide any private farmers any form of subsidy. State farms are also expected to pull their weight and produce foods at cost or profit in order to produce those specific goods which could otherwise increase their prices if given over to the private sector.
There are no subsidies draining our bank account. Our farmers are self reliant as when they are private they operate within a competitive market, and if they are on State farms they are State employees, thusly no subsidies or reliance on welfare.
Again a completely unsubstanciated law being released by the L-PU, this is starting to become something of a habit...

MessageWell there is no law currently denying subsidies to famers, so I am making a law. It's not "unsubstanciated" it doesnt exist as a law. No law-Make Law.....

Quote: Strategic Crop Production Proposal - 2nd reading;
"All other produce can, and will, be produced by Private farmers on their own land and will have no outside interference"
- This is the current law as written. Now, unless you have a completely different view of "no outside interference" than everyone else, it would generally be assumed that there would be no subsidy assistance to farmers, hence there is an existing law, hence the new ruling introduced by the L-PU would be unsubstaniated in claiming that there is subsidy assistance to farmers when the law is very clear that there is none. Any more questions about our current laws we can help you with?
