Bill: Luxury Goods for Some Act of 2937
Details
Submitted by[?]: New Independence Party (PCA)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2937
Description[?]:
While we would prefer total repeal of the luxury tax, we appreciate that some of our fellow representatives might find such a bold move too extreme. For that reason we offer this more modest bill, which would reduce the luxury tax to 5%. If there is anyone who supports our idea in principle, but finds they aren't ready to support our other bill, we hope they can find it in them to support this bill. |

Message | To be exact: The current surplus is 75 billion. The current luxury tax brings in 68 billion (not 72 as I previously reported). To cut the luxury tax in half would result in a diminution of 34 billion in revenues (half of 68 billion). 75 34 __ 41. We can afford to slash the luxury tax in half, and still have a 41 billion ALO surplus. |

Message | Emergency fund will be fine if this is passed. The emergency fund is 25 billion ALOs. After this passes, we'll still have more than 41 billion in the emergency fund. |
