Bill: Social Security Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: New Independence Party (PCA)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2938

Description[?]:

A mandatory public pension system is much more effective than a voluntary one. The reason being that short term financial pressures cause workers to deprioritize retirement savings in favor of meeting immediate financial goals. By making the pension system mandatory, workers will be better prepared for retirement.

If passed, this bill will be financed by a marked increase in Health and Social Services funding.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
