Bill: Military Cohesion Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Reform Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2941
Description[?]:
The Reform Party believes that we must recognize the natural distinctions that exist between men and women; biologically, men and women are endowed with different mental, emotional and physical qualities that make them better suited to different tasks. While men naturally posess physical and mental capabilities that make them suitable for combat, women have a predisposition that makes them more suitable for other tasks. For these reasons, the RP believes that women should serve in non-combat positions in the military. The Reform Party also believes that it is vital for the cohesion of Rutania's military that homosexuals not be allowed to serve, as they will inevitably cause a disruption, and some may have the wrong motivations for joining. |

Date | 18:40:48, May 16, 2010 CET | From | Latter-Day Saints Party | To | Debating the Military Cohesion Act |
Message | We ask the parties who support this legislation exactly how cohesion would be achieved by excluding certain members of our armed services? How could we possibly achieve greatness if we allow discrimination in our armed services? |

Message | The Labour Democracy Party does not support this bill as is! |
Date | 11:25:05, May 17, 2010 CET | From | Reform Party | To | Debating the Military Cohesion Act |
Message | The RP would like to respond to comments made by the LDSP: 'discrimination' is a word used far too often, and is usually applied by leftists to anything that departs from their fallacious notions of equality, pluralism and moral relativism, which are irreconcilable with natural society and have no basis in reality. Why should we ignore the fundamental and natural distinctions between men and women? And why should homosexuals be positioned as equals to heterosexuals when their lifestyle is an aberration from normative behaviour deepy entrenched in human nature? The military should not be made a catalyst for the LDSP's erroneous agenda of forcing everyone to get along, which would ultimately undermine cohesion and destroy its strength. |

Message | We would fervently support a "Don't ask, don't tell" policy, but not total removal of homosexuals from the military. |
Date | 08:33:56, May 18, 2010 CET | From | Reform Party | To | Debating the Military Cohesion Act |
Message | We have changed this legislation in accordance with the OP's concerns. |
Date | 23:50:08, May 18, 2010 CET | From | Latter-Day Saints Party | To | Debating the Military Cohesion Act |
Message | We cannot support either options. We are not seeking to force everyone to "get along," but we intend to ensure that all men and women get an equal chance to serve their nation with honor. Discrimination of any sort will destroy the morale and cohesion of our armed forces. |
