Message | "The Conservative and Unionist Party did propose and pass such an Act through Senate during the Democratic Restoration. However following the end of that period it is best, we find, that once more the Supreme President remains in command of his own cabinet." Annie Weston, Shadow Senate Warden (CUP) |
Date | 01:48:17, May 17, 2010 CET | From | Utilitarian Party of Solentia | To | Debating the Cabinet proposing Bill |
Message | The Federal Party of Solentia considers this amendment to the constitution an uttermost need; even more important seeing the disgraceful state of inter-partisan cooperation. We will support this important bill. |
Date | 11:01:14, May 17, 2010 CET | From | Action of Civic Democrats | To | Debating the Cabinet proposing Bill |
Message | But Supreme President is not Head of Government. Offering Each party can propose a cabinet coalition is high level of democracy. |

Message | Though we respect the right of the ACD to propose bills such as this, we cannot support, as the CPS sees this measure as a necessary check on the power of the Senate. CPS Chairwoman Andrea Bryant |
Date | 21:11:22, May 17, 2010 CET | From | Utilitarian Party of Solentia | To | Debating the Cabinet proposing Bill |
Message | A check on the power of the Senate which obviously has no sustainment. Solentia is a multi-partisan parliamentary democracy with an elected head of State which only had ceremonial powers, until it was recently approved to give the Head of State the function of also nominating the cabinet. Power in Solentia remains in the Senate; executive and legislative are not separated as in presidential regimes. |
Date | 02:31:07, May 18, 2010 CET | From | Coalition for National Unity [CNU] | To | Debating the Cabinet proposing Bill |
Message | "The Supreme President has powers over appointments to cabinet. He/she always has had. He/she also has emergency powers, as defined by law. Unless you are suggesting that passed legislation no longer counts?" Annie Weston, Shadow Senate Warden. |
Date | 02:56:27, May 18, 2010 CET | From | Utilitarian Party of Solentia | To | Debating the Cabinet proposing Bill |
Message | If that were the case, the Supreme President wouldn't have those powers as exclusive faculty, since until recently was it possible for every party to nominate a cabinet. He however cannot execute any action without the approval of the Senate so he is simply a high-standing public figure defending the standing of his party. Could then the CUP refer to our not so nurtured senators when was the last time a Supreme President renounced to follow the lines dictated by his party? |
