MessageThe CPS cannot support this act. While children need be protected from exploitation, it is plausible that income from a child may be the only thing keeping a family fed, or housed. We support this law as it stands.

Message-At a campaign rally in Northern Arame newly elected party leader Matthew Fisher addresses the crowd-

"I'd like to thank all of you for coming to this, the first formal campaign event of the newly formed Left Radical Party!"

"I'd also like to indicate my deepest gratitude to all those party members who supported my bid to become party leader and to extend my condolences to my opponent in that contest, Maree Holding, who ran a magnificent campaign and I'm sure we can overcome our differences and unite behind the banner of the party for the good of Solentia. Together comrades, with a sense of solidarity and with determination, we can change this country for the better!".

"And- as if we needed a reminder of why it's so critical for this party to be successfully, today we've witnessed the full force of reactionary power in the Federal Republic. Just moments ago the Conservative Party indicated they will use their numbers in the Senate to block our proposal to end child labour in Solentia! Once again, the Conservative Party has exposed their slavish deference to big business and corporate greed. How can our President condone the exploitation of children? Their opposition morally reprehensible and we will fight vigorously to ensure that the Child Labour Restriction Act 2945 becomes the law of the land!"

MessageMr. Fisher,

I fail to see how children are exploited when we ourselves establish the regulations which are placed upon employers to ensure that children are safe and looked after in the workplace. The fact remains that an extra source of income can be extremely beneficial to a family straddling the line with poverty, and child labor can go a long way toward keeping the strain off of the Solentian tax payer through welfare.

IC: The Utilitarian Party of Solentia welcomes the Left Radical Party. It is of the uttermost importance for Solentia to be a continuous arena open for debate. We regret the bill was not submitted on time, and since elections are coming in lees than 8 months, the current Senate will not have the chance to vote on this bill.
Regarding our position on the subject, it is true that the Solentian State places children in a special category and mandates education until they reach age of majority; several other protections exist to guarantee poor families receive child benefit from the State. More cannot be offered by the State; facilities are given to promote financial growth and employment, but we will not be a paternalistic land.
If the families find important for their children to work, as long as all regulations and procedures are followed, we see no need to prohibit child labour; experience is well looked upon by potential companies.

MessageWhile we would like to distance ourselves from the radical ideas of the communists, we must admit they have a point here. The situation as it is today is illogical if not unfair.
Entertaining child labour, even a regulated one, sends the wrong signals to the rest of the world. Aren't we proud of the high moral standards of Solentia? How can we tolerate child labour then?

As a second point: The logic. Right now we force individuals below he age of 18 to attend school, and at the same time allow them to work. How can children really focus on their education if they have the burden, or even wish, to work at the same time. Let us for once do the right thing and adopt this bill - at the latest after the elections. Let us bring an end to child labour.

Message"The Conservative and Morality Party remains staunchly dedicated to ensuring that families which are reliant on young-incomes are protected under law. We are also dedicated to making sure that young people who are in the unfortunate reality of living alone have access to plausible income. Now you can throw all of the ethical principles in the world at this matter but it just won't wash. The people of Solentia, those out there on the streets, are happy in the knowledge that there are Senators in the CMP and other parties who are dedicated to protecting their incomes.

Now it's time for the LRP and the SDP to get off their high horse, come back down to Earth and get to grips with the harsh and unfortunate reality of this issue. If this Act is passed, young people won't be able to eat. Fact. Poverty exists in this country, no matter how many White collar executives form political parties and it is out job to ensure that the people out there have the freedom they deserve to make a living and survive. The CMP will fight for that. To the end."

MessageThe Left Radicals are saddened and yet entirely unsurprised that the two conservative parties have expressed their opposition to this groundbreaking legislation. It is very, however, entirely revealing of their true natures. Their actions expose beyond a doubt that they are merely puppets of the parasitic upper classes. Their sordid attempts to justify the exploitation of the children of the Federal Republic for private profit are offensive to common decency and the Solentian spirt.

We applaud the Social Democratic Party for their support on this issue.

The Left Radicals appeal to the voters of Solentia to vote for progressive parties in the upcoming election to ensure the passage of the Child Labour Restriction Act 2945 in the next term of the Senate.

Message"The only thing that was groundbreaking, Mr. Fisher, was when this legislation was brought into law, before your party even existed, to protect the interests of illegal child workers and low-income families. This legislation is vital to so many of Solentia's most vunerable and yet the left, in typical ignorance, would have us remove these vital provisions!"

MessageFighting child poverty with the permission of child labour is like putting out a fire with gasoline. Children from a poor background essentially have to abandon a good education in order to make their living today. Do you think this gives those children a fair chance later in life? Certainly not! It is the duty of the government to stop this vicious circle from turning.
Let me remind you of the fact that,as of today, all adults in Solentia are granted a basic income - extending this right to children is overdue. This is the way to stop child poverty, not the "merciful" exploitation of children as cheap labour forces.
Finally, let us not forget that we are posing children under a legal dilemma: On the one hand, we are legally binding them to attend school under the age of 18, on the other hand we are prompting them to work. Doing both is hardly feasible.
This procedure is shortsighted, unjust and felonious and the SDP won't tolerate it.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
