Message | Madam Speaker, we cannot support a single aspect of this bill. Madam Speaker, Article I will lead to a situation where workers could be led out on strike permanently. There being on strike does nothing for their own rights, they cannot achieve anything by being on strike. Workers should only strike for their own pay and conditions , not of other people. Workers from an energy factory in Falristan will not be able to influence the decision of a biscuit factory owner in Adelia. Madam Speaker, it makes no sense. This bill, Madam Speaker, will also allow our armed forces to strike. It will allow our secret services to strike as well as our police force and ambulance men. Madam Speaker, at the moment such forces have to ensure that there is minimal service. That very much needs to be retained to ensure that the nation remains secure. Regarding Article III, we could almost understand the Labour Party's intentions if these were private industries we were talking about. Then it would certainly aid their ideology. But when the industries are nearly all run by the government, having DWCs makes no sense at all. Furthermore, Madam Speaker, if we want these industries to be efficient and profitable, then having a group of workers constantly making decision by committee, will not achieve that. |

Message | Madame Speaker, the current situation allows workers to be lead out on strike permanently, but limits some more than others. We believe that all people need to have equal striking rights. Striking does work, and will only be based on a democratic ballot. If the members of the union do not believe that a strike is neccisary, it cannot happen! Furthermore, Madame Speaker, the honorable lady's comment that a biscuit factory worker and and Energy factory worker going on strike is wrong, this allows other workers from the same industry but of different companies to sympathy strike. Again, they would only be able to do this if a ballot is taken and the majority of their members agree this is neccisary. Sympathy strikes will be extremely rare! Who will give up their pay unless it is something extremely unjust? Madame speaker, if our security services strike, and our health services strike, this means that their is something unjust that needs to be addressed! As these services are directly related to the government, we can go into talks with them! Furthermore Madame Speaker, Even if these industries are publically funded, it does not mean they have to be run by a faceless state! These DWC's are far more effective at executing the industrial aspects of these bussineses. |
