Bill: Gloria De Laz's Fiscal Reform Proposal to Parliament

Details

Submitted by[?]: Republican Party of Aloria (DemCoa)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2946

Description[?]:

Be it enacted that all emergency funds at the disposal of the President can be funded by deficits, rather then needlessly funded by taxation.

Be it reinforced that the government is committed to long term balanced budgets, and that any deficit temporally incurred must be paid back quickly in short order.

Be it Further reinforced that the emergency funds are just that, to be used only in the case of an emergency. Therefore, only when a deficit is actually neccessary would on be incurred.

"It is my belief that while long term deficits are not advisable, it can be justified in the short term in the case of emergencies, and keeping the people's money away from them by needlessly incurring such large surpluses and not either spending it or giving it back to the taxpayers, this policy is even less advisable." - Gloria De Laz Statement to Parliament

MessageConfused, would this stop the Emergency Fund Act? Cause it is in law we must have 20 billion in the surplus at all times.

MessageNo. It would change the law to say that the President can continue to be able spend as much emergency spending as currently allowed, but that such spending, when and if it is ever used, would be funded through deficits rather then surpluses.

Basically, it would change a draconian policy that keeps money out of people's pockets by needlessly not doing anything with budget surpluses (whether additional spending or tax cuts).

Deficits, in emergencies, are acceptable in the short run. It is much more preferable then taking money out of the economy as we are now doing.

MessageYes. That's the people's money. Emergency funding would still be at the President's discretion as however current, but that could be funded by deficits, a much preferable policy then taking money from the people and not giving it back.

MessageWill oppose because spending us into deficit is not good either way. At least the current way we have some money to use.

Besides the money is used as emegerency funds to defend and help the people. President Burton and the PP sees no problem with that.

MessageI have no problem with emergency funds. But I do have a problem with taking money away from the people. It's Draconian. it drains our economy.

Deficits are preferable for providing for such short term emergency spending. That way, you can pay down the debt later and not have to worry about being a drain on the economy year in and year out.

MessageI quite like the idea of freeing up more money for the people but defecits can cripple countries like Aloria (RL: uk debt situation was becuse of a fiscal policy based on defecits) Its a well thought out plan but the NCPA is happy with the current system, draconian it may seem but it's alot safer - Bill Allison Leader
