Description[?]:
NAME: John Paul White [FIP] AGE: 54 EXPERIENCE: --- Solentian Federation of Labor Chief Counsel 2936 - Present --- Deputy Minister of Trade & Industry 2930 - 2936 --- Orame Labor Relations Board 2926 - 2930 --- Solentian Public Defender 2916 - 2926 ADDITIONAL: John Paul White is an individual of great judicial character, with a background that's both solid and distinguishable. White began his career after graduating from college with a law degree, immediately being hired by the Orame Public Defender's office, the legal representation provided by the state for citizens. After enjoying a successful ten years with the OPD in which White fought to ensure the deprived were given competent counsel and not discriminated against, he was appointed to the Orame Labor Relations Board by then Governor Jay Hodgens. It was there that White found a love for working in the labor sector and made a name for himself as a powerful arbitrator and interpreter of labor law in cases between workers and corporations. Upon noting White's recommendations and service through advisors, Supreme President Jack Alvaren appointed White Deputy Minister of Trade & Industry where he served for six years. His work in the ministry proved favorable for organized labor when in his first year the ministry recorded immense union labor growth thanks to stepped up regulation by the department, overseen by White. After a new cabinet was implemented, White joined the Solentian Federation of Labor's legal team and became the union's general chief counsel. White is regarded as left of center, with a track record of supporting organized labor and government regulation of labor relations. He is a fiscal conservative, supports Supreme Presidential powers, and has a mixed record on internationalism. He is a traditionalist. |

Message | Thank you for your question, Senator Juras. I appreciate your time today looking into my confirmation. Business is no simple entity and I shall not attempt to oversimplify it as that would be doing it a great injustice. I think that business is a venue for all three to benefit. Workers have jobs and economic gain, owners put an effort and dedication into a successful service or product and therefore gain, and the state survives through productive systems that keep it fiscally alive. In general, these things I have mentioned are all positives. It is when business becomes unfriendly towards workers, workers unreasonable with employers, and the state too lenient or restrictive towards either that there is a shift in benefits. A system that allows an employer to reap rewards excessively while his employees, without whom the business would not be where it is, are unfairly treated and compensated. When business is targeted with the middle class in mind, it works for all citizens. I hope that I have answered your question. Court Nominee John Paul White |
