Bill: Rutanian Reform 2138
Details
Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2139
Description[?]:
No company would pay a worker a low wage that they cant support their family on, the worker wouldnt take the job otherwise. Why would a company hire someone on a wage they cant live on? they wouldnt because they want a productive happy worker, workers are not happy or productive if they aren't eating enough or supporting their family There is no need for a minimum wage, a distortion on the free market that prevents people from competing for jobs and leads to unemployment. If I have lower costs and am willing to offer my work for £5 hour than another worker who wants to work for £6 then i should get the job, however, if the minimum wage is £6.20 then i cannot compete and offer to work for less as it is illegal to do so. We also already have a minimum wage in effect, as the guaranteed minimum income means noone would accept a job that paid less or even slightly more a week than the minimum income. There is no need for the Government to interfere here, why should the Government be interefering in the hobbies of the people? That is authoritarian and that is just big government. Seeing as sports clubs consist of bowling clubs, cricket clubs, golf clubs, football sides, rugby clubs, i see no need for the Government to get involved. |

Message | The RFP opposes all of these. And would it kill you to at least TRY an argumentation why these things have anything in common? This is just bad, they measure all sorts of different things. |

Message | OOC: Really. I try to propose consistent policies at least when proposing multi-article bills. Do you have to insist on bringing all these unrelated issues to vote constantly? Or should we all begin proposing our party programmes for the stats instead of actually pretending that we want to get laws passed. |
