MessageYour lack of knowledge about socialism is amusing. Socialism isn't an autocratic political belief.

MessageOOC: I have two bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Russian. I know about Socialism.

My comment was not in regards to this bill. It was directly related to your comment "Forcing someone to do something is unacceptable".

How shall the government pay for the necessities of life for the community? How shall we police the streets? How shall we maintain order and civility?

Hmmm, taxes pay for these human necessities. Police Officers have the right to force a detainment when they suspect a violation. Order and civility is maintain in a society by en*forcing* laws on all people to deter anarchy and wrongdoings.

Force is a highly effective, and not altogether negative, tool that communities use to maintain order and even ensure progress. I find that your strong resistance to "force" anyone to do anything makes you much more in line with an anarchistic belief-system, not a socialist one.

MessageOOC: *sigh* Good for you with your bachelour's degrees. You know what very little about true Socialism.

Paying taxes is de jure forced, but the people know that without taxes, the nation can't sustain itself. They really do not mind paying taxes. Perhaps I should have worded it better, also including 'forcing them to do something they don't want to'.

People want the people to maintain order and law, and detain criminals. People want these laws, that's why they participate in democracy and elect legislators.

People don't want to be forced to join the military, or donate organs. For whatever reason it may be, it is their personal choice. Taxes, and police affects people in general. Military draft and organ donations don't, it affects that single person, or in the case of organ donations, one other person.

Now, what did I tell you of posting in OOC? You post way more OOC than you do IC. Be careful with that, as that may be in violation of the game rules.

Message-----"They really do not mind paying taxes."

I'm not sure where you live, Britain probably, but in America, Taxes are widely reviled. Most Americans do not want to pay taxes.... They feel it is something being forced on them. So, our cultural perspectives on taxation is a bit different.

----"People want the people to maintain order and law, and detain criminals. People want these laws, that's why they participate in democracy and elect legislators."

There are many people who hate cops and actively work against them, mainly because of the failed war on drugs in America.

"Be careful with that, as that may be in violation of the game rules."

Not really.... I've seen entire nations played OOC.

MessageOOC: Socialism is a transitionary fase to communism, a stateless classless society were the means of production are owned collectively by the people.

IC: We will abstain.

MessageOOC: I feel that your assessment of socialism is far too biased towards Marxist-Leninist thinking. I believe Socialism can be an end in itself. Akin to the beliefs of Henri de Saint-Simon and H.G. Wells.

Random fact: Whilst the use of non-English languages can be appropriate for nation names, party names, constitutional titles and other variables, English is the official language of communication in the game. All descriptive texts and public communications should be in English or at least appear alongside a full English translation.

Random quote: First and second class seats on public transport shall be BANNED! We are all FIRST CLASS people, regardless of whether we are rich or poor and can afford or not afford to pay for a more expensive seat. From now on, all seats on trains, buses, trams, planes and so on shall be the SAME. We will all travel in the SAME way, TOGETHER. ~ Friedrich Pfeiffer General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party
