MessageDo you genuinely believe that you can introduce a state run health system that works, and presumably state schools too, with a small tax increase like this? States with a large public sector take 1/3 to 1/2 of GDP in direct and indirect taxation. You are once again failing to be honest about the quality of service you will provide with such low levels of funding. It would be much more honest to leave the private sector to deal with services or to drastically increase tax.

MessageThe cost of health care provision is, of course, limited to the investment provided in it, however as our laws follow, the private sector still has complete involvement in all areas of health care and the public system will provide the same system of care as was provided previously which, although comprehensive, does not provide non-essential operations as these are provided by the private sector.
We also question your belief of a "large" public sector. It has never been WSS!P policy for a "large" public sector, merely a public sector that is affordable and provides high quality services in those areas where it operates. There is no requirement to "drastically increase tax" as, throughout the previous WSS!P government tenure taxation had been falling. Moreover, the 15bn HCR savings already made from the HoG which have been transferred to the health care system already begins the increase in expenditure, this money being used to setup the health care system and re-prepare the hospitals for public operation months before the legislation is passed to begin operation of the system. This time and money will be used carefully and to provide for all the people of this nation whilst not removing the private sector from continuing to provide for those people who wish to use it.

MessageYou will simply not be able to provide a high level of public services with taxation at these levels. Instead, you will establish a two-tier system, where those who can pay and those who can't settle for a second rate service at comical levels of funding. The idea of running a national health service without income tax is patently unaffordable, and it is very sad that you have taken funding away from Hobrazian business in order to pay for what we can only describe as a deeply misguided scheme.
