Voting deadline: August 2969
Description[?]:
A bill to reform medical malpractice and non-civil lawsuits. ARTICLE I - Under the current medical malpractice laws, the Commonwealth forbids lawsuits against doctors, allowing only a medical regulatory body to prosecute a doctor for malpractice. This situation leaves no recourse or recompense for patients victimized by medical malpractice or incompetence. To correct this injustice, it is here resolved to open malpractice regulation to debate in the Provinces of Rutania. ARTICLE II - In an effort to prevent frivolous or excessive lawsuits, the current laws concerning non-civil lawsuits caps damages awarded. To reduce the burden on our court system and further dissuade frivolous suits, it is hereby resolved to allow lawsuits only to provide money for medical and legal expenses. This shall in no way limit the court's ability to enjoin responsible parties to revise their actions. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
