| A bill ceasing government taxation on religious organizations, and welcoming foreign missionaries to Rutania. ARTICLE I - The Commonwealth, in preserving the fundamental right to freedom of religion, always has left the decision of faith to the inhabitants of the Provinces. However, an archaic law has left religious groups subject to a draconian tax as if these were enterprises designed for the gain of material wealth. In light of the vital role these groups play for the spiritual well-being of all Rutanians, and in the interests of preserving the liberty of free people to congregate to worship their God without governmental punishment, it is hereby resolved to repeal the tax on religious entities. ARTICLE II - The government of the Commonwealth has always left the choice of religion to the populace. It stands to reason, if the choice lies with the people, that it is incumbent upon the government to allow for as many choices as practicability and safety will allow. In the interests of fostering a spirit of openness concerning spiritual matters, it is hereby resolved that the Commonwealth welcome missionaries from foreign lands, providing an expedited process for missionary visitation visas and increasing the number of missionary permanent visas issued and renewed. |
