MessageRt Hon Derek Fry MP, Finance Secretary:

Mr Speaker, this tax plan will benefit every single Hutorian in this country. We will take millions more people out of paying income tax altogether, by raising the lower threshold to 20,000 HLR. Every band shall see a cut in tax, the only exception being those between 75,000 and 100,000. Mr Speaker, the cut in the highest income tax band was essential. For the government to take half or over half of an individual's income is immoral, and will not lead to the benefits that predictions and statistics would have us believe. In fact, Mr Speaker, by abolishing the highest tax band, there is hardly any difference in the income whatsoever.

Mr Speaker, the cut in corporation tax will allow our modern, capitalist economy to flourish. It will ensure that the working people can benefit from lower prices and companies investing in quality rather than tax. Mr Speaker, all Hutorians will benefit from this tax plan, and will make us a more prosperous country all round.

This is in order to give other players a chance to query the proposed changes, if they wish to do so.
