Bill: Act in Accordance with the Second Treaty of Poesy (AASTP) (2794)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Bismarckian National Resistance (BNR)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2976

Description[?]:

This act changes the laws of our nation so that they are in accordance with the Articles of the Second Treaty of Poesy.

Article 1: As allowed under Article 1 of the Second Treaty of Poesy, the Commonwealth of Yishelem and Beiteynu shall now be named the Holy Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem.

Article 2: In accordance with Article 5 of the Second Treaty of Poesy, the rightful Emperor of Luthori shall be King of Beiteynu and Yishelem and the de jure head of state of Beiteynu and Yishelem. The King shall be represented in the Holy Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem by a government official officially known as the "Governor-General and Executor of Head of State of the Holy Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, Official Representative of His Royal Majesty King Gustavus II of Beiteynu and Yishelem, Emperor of Luthori and Alduria and I of Mordusia, etc. [or whichever sovereign is currently ruling], the Honourable". The governor-general shall act as head of state for King Gustavus except in whatever matters in which the King deems to be of importance enough that he shall execute his powers as de jure Head of State of the Holy Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem. The head of government of the Holy Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, whose title may be changed, will be "Prime Minister and President of the Holy Council of the Most High God of the Holy Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, the Honourable". The governor-general and prime minister shall both be elected by the citizens of the Holy Commonwealth of Beiteynu and Yishelem, although the King may dismiss these election results and appoint someone to these positions if it is clear one or both of the people elected to the positions advocate, teach, encourage, have attempted, and/or can reasonably be expected to attempt the overthrow of the King as head of state.

Article 3: The official motto of the nation shall now be "Loyalty to God, to King, and to Country".

OOC: I used "Honourable" instead of "Honorable" because, theoretically, Luthori English is British English, and Beiteynuese speak Luthori English. The only changes in the motto are the capitalization of "country", the addition of "to" before "country", and the addition of a comma after "King", because, and you can ask CZP on this, I am very picky about grammar.

Random quote: "The moral justification of capitalism does not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve 'the common good.' It is true that capitalism does, if that catch-phrase has any meaning, but this is merely a secondary consequence. The moral justification for capitalism lies in the fact that it is the only system consonant with man's rational nature, that it protects man's survival qua man, and that its ruling principle is justice." - Ayn Rand
