Message"The CUP puts forth this legislation in order to enable the Senate to be truely Sovereign and to allow the people the choice of Government and not the State. Whilst the CUP recognises the Supreme President as the leader of the Executive branch, we do not feel that the wish of the majority is appropriately represented under the present system. It is for that reason that we seek to enable coalition-building majorities and to create a system of duality whereby the Executive and Legislature must work together; as per the will of the people. I urge the senate to concur."

Sen. Eleanore Lehres, CUP Senatorial Lead.

MessageWhy doesn't the party of proposal, overhaul the election system to combine the Presidential and Legislative elections into one?

MessageFurthermore, why don't we propose a new politics whereby any party can form a government. That way parties who feel they can work together in government, are able to do so and as long as they have 51% Support in the senate and the wider public, they can govern and form a cabinet.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.

Random quote: On 7th February 4281 a group of renowned Metzist experts from all across Terra met in Haldor to form the International Committee for the Estimation of the End Date of Capitalism (ICEEDC). With the assistance of a powerful computer, they calculated that capitalism will terminate Terra-wide on 6th November 4320, and in Dorvik on April 17th 4310. We have no reason whatsoever to believe these very eminent and learned scholars are wrong. They have never been wrong about anything before. ~ Friedrich Pfeiffer, General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party
