| OOC: Initially I was not going to send this to vote, but I have decided to change that decision and see the outcome of the bill. Still, the overall purpose remains, sparking debate over much needed constitutional reform. Also it is highly possible for future amended editions of the Act of Democratic Union, so give your opinions. ------------------ ACT OF DEMOCRATIC UNION ---------------------- ____General Outline of Purpose____ Upon the passage of the Act of Democratic Union, the monarchy of Sekowo is disestablished and a full democracy is created. This new Sekowo shall be officially titled as the "United Sekowan Republic", abbreviated as the USR. ____Sekowan Unity & Governmental Legitimacy____ The Act of Democratic Union shall reinforce the unity of Sekowo as a single nation and the nation will no longer recognize the legitimacy of the Empire Magnificent and the Imperial Federation. The only legitimate government is that of the United Sekowan Republic and its divisions. ____Officials of Former Sekowan Governments____ Those who continue to operate as "government officials" of the Empire Magnificent and/or Imperial Federation will be prosecuted and jailed for a minimum of one year. ____The Royal Families of Sekowo____ The individual monarchies of the Empire Magnificent and Imperial Federation may continue in existence, but with no specialized power or title in the USR. All members of both royal families will be treated as private citizens within the USR, abiding by Sekowan laws and paying all required taxes. |
