MessageAs people live longer and want to work longer as well, it makes sense to at least debate the retirement age. To increase it by four years would allow people to be able to work for that extra few years, make more money, put away more for their retirement and indeed increase economic growth and help business and industry. It would give more rights/freedoms to the individual as well, because they could opt out of this if they wish to retire earlier than 70, as private pension funds exist in this country, yet would allow people not to be laid off work due to being 'past it' or 'too old' as many people get told in this day and age.

To sum, this legislation is about choice. It is about saying to an individual, you have a right. A right to retire when you choose and to not be laid off work because you are 'too old.' We have to allow people the choice of when they retire, and as our country operates a private pension fund system only, it is up to people when they retire, pending on how much they save. Some poorer members of society may not have saved up enough by 66, yet find themselves confined to the scrap heap. Giving them at least those four extra years, will make a world of difference.

Message"The CUP refuse to see this as a free choice issue. You say it is about empowering the individual and yet those over 70 would still be forcefullly retired. You are simply changing numbers to make an economic point and masking it under civil rights whilst you simultaneously oppose freedom of faith, force people to follow your own religious beliefs, create a bedroom state and propose big government. Solentia will see through it easily enough."

MessageWell 72% of the Senate hasn't and it is you who forces a bedroom state and gay rights on people constantly. But that is another debate altogether.

MessageYes by forcing people to have sexual education when they don't want to, and by doing nothing but impower criminals in our justice system. I can see how you are empowering the individual there. Great Job. It really is surprising how you've been defeated on a ratio of 9:1. 'A successful government empowering the individual' And if you believe that ladies and gents, you will believe anything!
