MessageVaccination should always be promoted but the SDLP believes that no-one should ever be forced to do so.

MessageWe are confused at the Centre Moderates stance on this proposal. I would have thought a claimed liberal party as yourselves would vote for freedom of choice?

MessageCarol, they are all talk. They say they want minimal state and reduced government with individual freedom, yet when tough choices such as this need to be made, they always oppose individual rights. You have to be a raving gay before they recognise you as an individual. If you are a student/parent you get ignored.

Message"We do not judge this to be a matter of parental freedom, but of Child protection. The individuality and autonomy of the parent is not challenged, only the health of the child. We believe that children are too young and vunerable to put at risk over ideological matters. This is a realpolitik issue that determines that children need protection, without fear of parental misguidence. Frankly, I am surprised the SDLP are allowing parents to potentially put their child at risk over matters of ideology."

Jens Lindisfarne, Shadow Internal Affairs Secretary.

MessageThey can try and talk their way out of it. The fact is parents are allowed to make choices for their children and what is best, and the CMP is doing their best to take that choice away. Parents responsibility is their children and he is creating a nanny state/big state where this would not be possible. Ms. Lindisfarnes party only supports the 'individual' in a 'liberal' way when it suits them and when it is a cause they support. Otherwise they make up excuses to get out of it.

Message"The religious-nutjobs want to start talking choice when they're pushing mandatory religion through Senate? Time to get real, put the textbook of ideologies away and start talking pragmatics, realpolitik and common sense. Should all children be given vaccines for their health and safety? Yes, of course they should. Should a parent be permitted under law to threaten their child with disease on the basis of religion or warped ideology? Like hell. Under our dead bodies."

Jens Lindisfarne, Shadow Internal Affairs Secretary.

MessageWhat lunacy, the party of rights for everyone (unless your a parent, a teacher, a health worker, religious, moral, a child, a student, a worker, an employer, an employee, a pensioner, over 60, or a victim of crime) need to really sort their act out. A parent is responsible for their child and it is their decision. STOP INTERFERING IN PEOPLES LIVES, THEY ARE SICK OF IT. That is the direct message I am constantly being told by my constituents about your ridiculous excuse for a political movement. Constantly losing seats and support, IS IT ANY WONDER? Just because we are religious and have morals is that any reason for us to be labelled nutjobs? That would be like us calling her party, the party of pretty boys and bull dykes. It is highly offensive stuff.

MessageBelieve me it is. You may be blind to your many faults but the public are not. You only have 7% of the public behind you and there is a clear reason for that. Your party changes, people are confused as to what you stand for as you even cannot decide and there is no backbone in the entire party. Choice for some, statism and control for others. We think parents know what is best for their children given the risks involved with MMR vacines for example, they think state knows best. Whilst we encourage morality, they encourage people to be the opposite.

Joy Beckett.

MessageYou are completely changing the topic. There is a seperate debate on religion and morality, which you oppose. This debate is about your inabilties to let parents have control over their own children, because once again your arrogant and ignorant party think they know better than everyone else. Fact is- you don't. Everyone can see that but you.

MessageThe SDLP believes the vast majority of Solentian parents would wish to vaccinate their children, as this is the case we see no need to force a minority of those who do not wish to vaccinate their children. It is our responsibility to encourage vaccination not force it. The SDLP endorses a school run vaccination policy with an opt-out option. In our view this leads to good health outcomes without unnecessary government intervention.

MessageWe oppose.

The efficacy of immunisation often depends heavily on whether 'herd immunity' is achieved due to a critical mass of children being vaccinated. The Left Radicals cannot support the equivocating of some to be to the great detriment of the many.

Supreme Presidential Candidate.

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action.

Random quote: "Abolition of a woman's right to abortion, when and if she wants it, amounts to compulsory maternity: a form of rape by the State." - Edward Abbey
