Bill: Anti-Abortion Act 2985 (Conscience Vote)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Social Justice Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2985

Description[?]:

The SDLP is a secular party and our policy stance may seem to not fit how we may be stereotyped given our legislative history or that of the abortion debate in general. We believe that the rights of the unborn to live must be protected except where the mothers life is at risk. We continue to support the widespread availability of contraception but we cannot accept what we see as state sponsored murder of those who do not have a voice and therefore a choice in determining their fate. It must be stressed however that this legislation is not to be construed as the church directing matters of state which we have never supported, only one of conscience.

MessageHORRENDOUS.

This session of the Senate has been the most regressive in recent history. To deprive women of the right to control their own fertility is an abhorrent overreach by the reactionary forces. We're deeply upset with the SDLP for their betrayal of the progressive cause.

The National Executive of the Left Radical Party is pained to announce we'll no longer offer an endorsement of the SDLP in the 2nd round of the Supreme Presidential election as had previously planned.

Random fact: Once approved, players should copy Cultural Protocols into a bill in the debate section of their nation page, under the title of "OOC: Cultural Protocols". This bill should include links to the passed Cultural Protocol bill and the Moderation approval.

Random quote: "The great economic, social and political scientist, Karlstein Metz, accurately predicted over 2,500 years ago that capitalism is doomed to destruction by its inherent weaknesses and contradictions, and must inevitably be replaced by a communist form of social, political and economic organisation." - Friedrich Pfeiffer, former Dorvish politician
