Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal-Progressive Union
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2140
Description[?]:
Despite the knowledge of the dangers of smoking, some citizens will smoke regardless. We feel that if someone takes it upon themselves to smoke, it is their right to decide and not the governments. The government can continue to actively campaign against smoking, but cannot actively treat those who smoke, or choose to smoke as criminals. |

Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy towards smoking.

Message | Smoking should be legal, as drugs are legal. Smokers shouldn't be treated as criminals. |

Message | "Smoking should be legal, as drugs are legal." - Complete false. According to the bill legalising drugs (http://82.238.75.178:8085/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=8157) only those that have been shown to be safe are permitted. Smoking has repeatedly been shown to be extremely harmful to the smoker and those around them. Why should tobacco be treated differently to other drugs? This bill would addict a population mostly unaffected by tobacco smoking and increase the load on the NHS (smoking massively increases the risk of repiratory illnesses and cancers). Please realise the invalidity of your position. |

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that. |
