Message | What reason is there for letting local governments decide eminent domain policy? |
Date | 05:31:33, November 13, 2005 CET | From | Anarcho-Capitalist Front | To | Debating the Eminent Domain |
Message | If we are to take the property of the individual, those making the decision should be as close to that individual as possible. We admit that there are certain situations that call for eminent domain, but the individual should be allowed an active voice in the process. |

Message | This proposal only determines the legality of eminent domain, not the people who will be making the decision. We feel a consistent eminent domain policy across our nation, with the local governments determining when to seize properties, is best. Under the proposed a law, a local government could decide to change eminent domain laws so that they could seize private property to build a new restaurant for government employees only. |
Date | 10:42:51, November 13, 2005 CET | From | People's Progressive Party | To | Debating the Eminent Domain |
Message | The Totalitarian Party raises a good point. There are no checks and balances written into this bill to prevent localities from abusing eminent domain. |
