Bill: Reintroduction of Democracy Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Social Democratic Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 3029
Description[?]:
This bill, should it be passed, will dramatically increase the number of public representatives in Congress. As things currently stand, each Congressman of the United Republics represent over 8 million citizens. That is a travesty that has been allowed to fester in this country for far too long. This bill aims to improve representation so that each Congressman represents 1 million citizens, and that a resolution should be passed so that the 1:1000000 ratio will be kept to by future governments. OOC: 750 is the maximum number of representatives the game engine will allow me to propose. |
Proposals
Article 1

Message | Mr. Speaker, Although 750 is a high number, and although our party has traditionally supported 500 seats, we will support this bill as it will increase representation considerably. I yield. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, May I ask the SDP that our two parties remain committed to this and that when we have the opportunity to bring sweeping changes to Lodamun in the same way the current regime has done, we will make this happen. I yield. |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
