Message | Rt Hon Karl Harrod, Prime Minister, Mr Speaker, my first Act as the new NSC Prime Minister is to introduce this piece of legislation to liberalise the media. I believe the media should have the right to publish certain information. We do not advocate a completely free media however and believe that would be a dangerous precident in Hutori. The media will be allowed to express views, report stories and so on largely without government influence. We will continue to restrict international news and Hutorian international affairs from our peoples. They need to concentrate on the Hutorian economy through hard work - without the distraction of news etc to corrupt their minds. Mr Speaker, i have set a new precedent for the NSC and there will be more Bills such as this in order to take the state influence back a pace. |

Message | George Oldfield, Leader of the Conservative Party, Mr. Speaker, The Conservative Party will support this bill simply because it is a step forward. We do not necessarily feel that the proposed is at all good enough, but it is better than the current law. |
