Bill: Increase in Legislative and Executive Term Lengths Act of 3038
Details
Submitted by[?]: Bismarckian National Resistance (BNR)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 3039
Description[?]:
In order to save the nation money from close-together elections and to shift the focus from campaigning for office to actually carrying out the duties of office in constituents' best interests, the BNR proposes this bill. Act 1: The term length for offices of the legislative and executive branches of the government shall be increased from the current length of 48 months, or 4 years, to the length of 72 months, or 6 years. Act 2: This change shall only take effect on the second election after the passing of this bill. (OOC: this is not in-game possible; just IC.) OOC: This is mainly so I do not have to change the names of my IC politicians so much. As may be deduced, however, my current politicians/cabinet members have been in office for ages - which is actually IC against a law I passed back in 2965 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=295852) haha - so as soon as I have some time I will change them through an RP - maybe a military coup or something if old Xan. agrees and I have the time. |
