Message | The issuses the People's Commonwealth Party supports in being allowed to be judged by the local government, in contrast to current law, are as follows: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Article 1 - Government policy in respect to adultery. Though instituted strong federal legislation against it, we believe that adultery is a powerful topic and if the local institutions want to make legislation to fortify monogamy (punish adultery) or allow for loose form of accepted polyamourity (protect adultery), then that should be the choice of the community based on their culture. Article 7 - The government's policy on public nudity. This should allow for communities that cater to those who believe in more natural ways of living, such as nudity. That should be an accepted lifestyle if the community can agree upon it. Article 8 - The government's stance on population control. Though the People's Commonwealth Party believes in nationwide monitoring of the population and putting forth benefits and regulations to ensure stability, local governments deciding what is necessary is acceptable, especially when the alternative is rampant population deregulation. Article 9 - Displays of public offection and obscenity laws. We think that public signs of affection are not to be considered immoral or wrong. We support local governments having the right to allow more freedom in this area. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unfortunately, we cannot support the rest of this legislation and are in favor of the current policies. The P.C.P. wishes the Nationalists had put this to debate first so that a consensus could have been reached. |
