MessageMr speaker,

Apparently, the KPM believes that state controlled industries are not able to run their businesses properly. The economy is growing and the industry is doing well. That means that less state investments are necessary and more taxes can be raised to start leveling the budget. How come that the KPM ignores such facts ?

MessageMr Speaker,

don't we still have one of the highest budgets ever?
And I ask the goverment, why they cut money away form science and technology, when in this area the future of our nations will be decided.

MessageMr Speaker,

Having a deficit in difficult times is no problem. In times of economic growth the deficit will be reduced. That's why this Government proposes this bill. The economy is on the right track again after the disasterous conservative policies, I would like to add.

Concerning the 2nd question, it's very obvious that we believe that this a public AND a private matter. As mentioned before, the economy is starting to get going again which means that companies are able to invest in new technologies and other R&D activities.

MessageMr Speaker,

we are as always very pleased to see, how well our coalition is working, and how our trust in our partners in government is never disappointed.

Concerning the 2nd question of the opposition, we are confident that the future of our nation is not influenced by the budget for science and technology for even a tenth as strong as it is influenced by the education department, which has been given a raise.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
