Message | I suggest you make the wording, to say it only affects serial killers and 1st degree murderers, along with the terrorists, treasoners, etc. But yeah, i'm for this. |

Message | The death penalty was temporarily abolished in the US in the 1970s and capital drimes dropped. The twelve states that currently have no death penalty have some of the lowest crime rates in the nation. Illinois recently, through DNA testing, exonerated 12 death row inmates. The death penalty is neither an effective deterrant nor a foolproof system and therefore is far too much of a risk. The SDC neither supports the current law nor your proposed expansion of the death penalty to include more crimes. We whole heartedly support its complete and utter abolition. |

Message | I changed the description a little. SDC: This is not 1970. We now have DNA evidence to use. Death Penalty should be used. The reason for it is less to punish, more for getting these people off of the Earth now, instead of waiting for them to die in prison. |

Message | Right, we've used DNA evidence to prove the fallability of the system. Why should we believe it infallible now. Thirty years from now science may show the weaknesses we do not see now. It is a risk the government cannot take. |
