Message | In previous debates on this subject we showed evidence that many of apparent problems with home-schooling are misconceptions. In particular: the misconception that parents only want to teach their children racist beliefs. The misconception the home-schooled children are not socialized or interact with other children. (remember socialized and interaction have two different meanings in this context.) The evidence clearly points to these key facts: Home-schooled students are often up 4 grades higher than public school children. Home-schooled students do better on standardized tests and subject based tests. Children are home-schooled by people of all races and religious beliefs, this indicates that they believe they can educate their children better than the public school system. Surveys show that Home-schooled children in college show greater leadership qualities and are more socialized than state or privately educated students. We welcome debate on the subject. |
