Message | "This has been brought forward far too quickly. It is rash and without consultation or discussion. The Unionist Party, whilst respecting Solentian tradition, find this model difficult to rationalise. The 2616 Committee shall be consulted." Aidan Lindisfarne, Unionist Deputy Leader and Senatorial Lead |

Message | "The reaction of the Unionists is disappointing. We had hoped that the election of President Torvellian would lead to an era of moderation in the executive's party. What is there to discuss? We have a SHC cabinet, we must have SHC government!" Aaron Redman, CPS Chairman |

Message | "We simply have reservations on pushing this restoration through without discussion. Clearly, what the last few years has revealed is that within the SHC there is disagreement on how to achieve our collective ends. It is with that in mind that we urge deeper, further discussion on this issue before we take the vote. President Torvellian is a man who believes in a single, unified Solentian State with strong Governance and the whole of our team are behind him on that. What we now need to look at, is what shape we want Solentia to take. Whether we continue to work under a system of operation that elevated Presidential authority as "Supreme" or whether we want to invest, as the Regency era did, more power into the Head of the Government under a Protectorship. In our minds, there is not room for both and in our minds, that now needs to be discussed." Aidan Lindisfarne, Unionist Deputy Leader and Senatorial Lead |

Message | "When such a discussion is raised, we need only look to history to provide us with our answers. The Supreme Presidency model has worked for six hundred years, a time during which the nation remained one of the most stable and peaceful political bodies on Terra. The monarchies of this world, historically, have been expansionist, imperialist, and bellicose. We all know which course Solentia ought to take, the question is whether or not the foreign monarchist agents at play within our borders will prevail. It is the duty of the SHC to ensure that they do not. The CPS whole-heartedly supports the FIP in this sensible restoration of tradition." Aaron Redman |

Message | "Traditionally, the Senate of the Federal Republic has wielded much more power than the Executive. It seems reasonable therefore to present a model that combined both Senatorial Sovereignty, as is right, and balances that with a measured and limited executive, as administered rightfully by the Head of the Government rather than the Head of the State. In our minds, the Supreme President was never Supreme at all, as he was always accountable to the Senate and the leader of our nation was truely the Head of the Government who held duties in this chamber where real power is and has always been invested." Message | "Two things strike us: 1) the desire to turn back the Republic in a solace of few and snooty nobles and 2) the lack of understanding between the government forces. Wasn't this the grand coalition government?" Velio Maggiorelli - Leader of FHE Party |
Date | 00:33:26, January 23, 2011 CET | From | Coalition for National Unity [CNU] | To | Debating the Senate Resolution 221: Restoration of the Republic |
Message | "We take no warnings from a party that lead us into a split nation of duel governance and ignored the problem." Aidan Lindisfarne |

Message | I strongly urge the Unionist Party to look upon this legislation favorably. It is a step towards a unifying system that led Solentia into prosperity for years. We have been a politically tumultuous state for some time now in comparison to the politics of the past, let this measure put those tensions to rest and allow for us to pave a path of unity. This is an olive branch that seeks to find better times once more. Speaking for my party, I can promise you that Federal Independents will work their hardest to iron out differences between the prevailing political interests in this nation and attempt to kindle a new golden age. This is a system that has been tried and tested true, let us embrace it once more in hopes of establishing a renaissance of Federal Republican politics. FIP Senate Minority Leader Gordon Sutton |

Message | "I see no single government here, Mr. Sutton. Only the destruction of two to the empowerment of a former. The Halion and Calydon Government in this model would be dissolved in favour of an old system. That does not unify us, it prioritises the interests of some above others. What about those voters who voted Unionist, or Whig? Why is their system destroyed?" Aidan Lindisfarne |

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators. |
