Message | Hon Toby Andrews MP, Conservative Party Leader, Mr Speaker, it should be the local governments to decide whether or not the death penalty should be used in Hutori. There is a wide range of opinions on this issue in our state with many areas for and many areas against the implementation of the death penalty. Now. Mr Speaker, is it right for 50% + 1 to enforce a policy on the other 49%? Because that is what is currently happening in Hutori. We should allow local areas to choose whether the death penalty exists and then it is their decision to live or die by its hand judging on their actions. Mr Speaker, personally i do not endorse the death penalty unless it is for serious high crimes. Many Hutorians take a differing attitude. We should allow the people to set the policy for a local issue and put the issue of the death penalty to rest in Hutori. |
