Bill: Repeal of Social Incentive and Titles Act 3071

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party of Solentia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3072

Description[?]:

The Senate of the Federal Republic of Solentia, no longer endorsing the monarchist implementation of titles as legalized by the "Social Incentive and Titles" act passed in 3041 (OOC: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=306870), hereby repeals and declares void the aforementioned act.

All titles and "social incentives" granted by the aforementioned act or any others like it are declared by the Senate to be illegal and not in character with the Solentian tradition which is one of democracy and equality, not of aristocracy.

Any citizen of Solentia claiming a title after the repeal of the aforementioned act shall be subject to discipline at the discretion of the Supreme Court of Solentia. The punishment for such a crime is not to exceed 30 years imprisonment for aristocratic treason, but is not to be less than 5 years imprisonment for aristocratic treason and a fine deemed suitable by the Supreme Court.

This repeal shall pass with more votes cast in the affirmative than in the negative, and shall only be repealed by a bill designed specifically for that purpose which passes with more votes cast in the affirmative than the negative.

Random fact: Particracy is set in the fictional world of Terra, which mirrors the real world of today and yet is not quite like it.
