Bill: Zardic Agricultural Trade Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Communist Party of Darnussia
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 3078
Description[?]:
Zardugal would be willing to provide Darnussia with 2 billion tons of potatoes, corn, and wheat per annum over the next 5 years in exchange for an equal amount of steel/iron in addition to 750 Million DAR per annum. This is a good, albeit pricey, solution to our food problems. Any party who votes against this is an enemy of Darnussia! |

Message | First of all you should not make "you are with us or against us" statements. Secondly why don't we just hand them our first born while we are at it. That is an outrageous price for food. We should let private companies deal with our supposed "food shortage", of which you provide no further evidence than I said so. |

Message | "We should let private companies deal with" We need land to grow our food, land that we do not have, land Zardugal, the fourth largest country on Terra has. And no. The price is actually pretty reasonable. We are spending 600 billion on agriculture. 750 million is perfectly enough to go to Zardugal. And yes, I feel I should make ' "you are with us or against us" statements.' Because it's true. If you wait to delay this bill for petty reasons, we will starve. If we put it through now, we can eat, and then change details. This expires in 5 years. We can quite easily arrange a better deal if you wish. It's certainly something I would wish, despite this being the equivalent to state capitalism. |

Message | The fact that there is state involvement it makes it non-capitalistic. Companies would easily emerge that would buy food on different markets and sell it to Darnussians. |

Message | I thought I'd state a few facts from the United Nationalists to put your mind at ease. The 750 Million DAR is only .00125% of the Agriculture budget. The Price per ton is 177 DAR which is half of what the RL going rate is for wheat. Zardugal only asked for the 750 DAR, which converts to 9 Million ZAR to cover transportation costs. |
