MessageMr Speaker,

I hope this can settle into the thick minds of the NAP, this is not a proposal to abolish private housing, this is a proposal to provide, low rent public housing to families who are finding it hard to make a living. The least we could do is provide public housing to those who need it most, further more it would create new jobs to build these houses and it would reduce homelessness as they would now have a roof over their head and a place they could call home. If the NAP and/or CDP (more directed at the NAP) have a single decent bone in their body they would vote yes, vote yes to show that they really care for the poor and needy not just the toffs living on high street.

I yield.

OOC: Besides, my proposal is already what most countries in the world have anyways. We have them in the UK (Council Flats) and I'm sure you Americans have them too, in fact I know you have them, housing projects I think its called over there.

MessageMr. Speaker,

These people are better off receiving subsidized rent, rather than living in government housing. Renting rom a private party generally leaves oneself in a better residence than could be provided by the government.

Perhaps if the opposition would stop trying to coddle every one and get them to depend on themselves, we wouldn't need any programs like this.

I yield.

(OOC: We do, and believe me, they suck. Barely more than a room or two that are drafty, leaky, etc.)

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
