Message | The VPK shall never support this - especially not the flag. |
Date | 19:27:08, February 25, 2011 CET | From | Rettslig Fascistisk Front | To | Debating the RFF Tertiaries - The Government |
Message | The flag is the historical flag of Kazulia, and was so for the greater part of it's history. We seek to return the historical traditions of Kazulia. Why do you oppose? |
Date | 20:19:46, February 25, 2011 CET | From | Vänsterpartiet Kommunisterna | To | Debating the RFF Tertiaries - The Government |
Message | We see no need for a return to traditions when what we have at the moment is better. The old flag does not properly emphasise Kazulia's Nordic identity and has a fascist look to it. |

Message | How is it better? There is no statement behind it, now showing of kazulian identity OOC: Basically it looks as if someone moved in and decided they preferred other RL ideas and overthrough tradition because they felt like it. I'll produce another less "fascist" flag with the same credentials |

Message | OOC: Other, less "fascist" suggestions, without the bear motif. In order from my most preferred to my least preferred, thoughts? http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/7946/kazulia1.jpg http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/6461/kazulia3.jpg http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/5831/kazulia2.jpg Anything to get rid of this flag we have now, which is just copy and pasted from a RL nation with a changed background. At least these flags actually have some relevance to Kazulia. The last one is just for reference of what bold and primary looks like in comparison really. |

Message | It was actually the cross inside the circle I was primarily referring to (which is a symbol used my many RL neo-nazi groups (the so-called 'celtic cross') rather than the bear. The current flag is the closest you can get to a combining of the Swedish and Norwegian flags which are the two countries I think Kazulia has historically been most closely based upon. However if we were to get a new flag I would rather than a plain Nordic cross in either the Swedish/Danish/Finnish or Norwegian/Icelandic style. |

Message | SO basically you're more concerned about making Kazulia a simple mashup of the RL nordic countries than actually having any reference to its own identity it's had for the greater part of 1000 game years? None of the nordic countries fought against colonisation by the holy roman empire, italy or england (real world analogies for Particracy states), have a large number of ethnic japanese and welsh in their population, is ruled by a German ethnic minority and is majority catholic, has a history of foreign control followed by restoration of monarchies and long stretches of communist and fascist control. |
Date | 16:18:17, February 26, 2011 CET | From | Vänsterpartiet Kommunisterna | To | Debating the RFF Tertiaries - The Government |
Message | To be honest I haven't paid much attention to Kazulia's history (as it appears in the wiki) and I don't think most of the people who have played here do either. There are many ethnic identified countries in particracy and Kazulia is the only Nordic one. I think it is therefore good to have a country where all Nordic players (or players who identify with the Nordic countries in some way) can feel at home. |
Date | 20:49:45, February 26, 2011 CET | From | Rettslig Fascistisk Front | To | Debating the RFF Tertiaries - The Government |
Message | This is a roleplaying game, you adapt to the role of the nation and party you create, not just recreate your home somewhere else. It's why there's such repeated revolutions in Quanzar and proper players taking over every now and then, they're so fed up of Italians coming in and calling it Istalia to just recreate their home state, that's not what the game is about. You adapt to the nation you choose, not vice-versa. |
Date | 02:47:09, February 27, 2011 CET | From | Vänsterpartiet Kommunisterna | To | Debating the RFF Tertiaries - The Government |
Message | The official title of Kazulia is "Nordiske Republikken av Kazulia" - "The Nordic Republic of Kazulia". I see you have also chosen a Norwegian/Danish name for your party and want our parliament to be named directly after the Norwegian one in Oslo. I don't ever remember Kazulia not having a primarily Nordic identity and that is how I intend things to stay. The VPK will not approve any flag that doesn't closely resemble that of one of the Nordic countries. |
Date | 04:15:57, February 27, 2011 CET | From | Rettslig Fascistisk Front | To | Debating the RFF Tertiaries - The Government |
Message | Then you are stubborn and bigoted. The nordic languages are those upon which Kaulia are based and the name for Kazulia is a new thing planted by people who are incapable of understanding the difference between RL and RP. I seek to return things to how they were when Kazulia was actually an RP nation rather than a RL copy and paste and will continue to drive to do so. This bill will remain until I have the majority to push it through as you seem incapable of compromise. |
Date | 14:21:59, February 27, 2011 CET | From | Vänsterpartiet Kommunisterna | To | Debating the RFF Tertiaries - The Government |
Message | I guess you have the majority now but I'm not happy about this new course of events and think it will make it less likely for new players from the Nordic countries to come here. In addition the election results were totally unrealistic and there's no way my party should have done so badly. Unless things improve I may have to give up. |

Message | You suggested one bill in the entire time I was a party here, my party gained visibility as yours lost it. Also I tailored some of the bills to match popular opinion in states where I did badly the first time round so I worked the political system for my benefit, as any fascist party would do! |

Random quote: "John Burroughs has stated that experimental study of animals in captivity is absolutely useless. Their character, their habits, their appetites undergo a complete transformation when torn from their soil in field and forest. With human nature caged in a narrow space, whipped daily into submission, how can we speak of its potentialities?" - Emma Goldman |
