Bill: Smart Aid Strikes Back - Episode III: Return of the Quid Pro Quo
Details
Submitted by[?]: Society of Sadists
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2142
Description[?]:
For the third time in Endralonian history (as far as I can remember), the SoS calls for our foreign aid policy to benefit both sides. Both previous times it passed and was state policy for years before eventual meddling! As explained before, smart aid makes trade. If you want an RL example look at what China's doing in Africa, very good work, infrastructure for countries desperately needing it (Bob Geldof didn't give them that) and good raw materials deals for the Chinese economy. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy towards giving aid to foreign countries.
Old value:: The government gives moderate aid to countries in need.
Current: The government only gives aid for disaster relief in foreign countries.
Proposed: The government supplies "tied" aid to poorer nations in return for trading rights.
