MessageThis act will take the government out of the market and let the market, not the people's elected representatives decide the fate of innocent Tukaralians in times of greatest need.

MessageThe point is, we are investing in failed industries. We need to take ourselves out of that because it is a waste of taxpayer money.

MessageThat has nothing to do with being a bank for failed businesses. Choose your rhetoric more carefully, please.
Any industry whose collapse would create an economic (or other major) crisis for all Tukarali is to be nationalised so as to protect the interests of ordinary Tukaralians. The nationalisation process will certainly not benefit those managers whose incompetence has led to the collapse.

While we're all for the market ripping failed businesses to shreds, we are not so keen when it means destropying the lives of the millions of citizens who rely on services and who've done nothing wrong.

MessageSDP, that is how a free market society works. You being a socialist, I don't expect you to understand this. You want everything to be state owned.

We do not support nationalization of ANY industry and we shall support this bill. We are not a socialist nation as much as you wish for that to occur. We are a capitalist country and it should be runned as such. If a business fails, then it fails. We should not be keeping it afloat. That really is a waste of taxpayer money and it is high time we spend it more wisely.

Perhaps the PP does not understand anything about socialism or any ideology other than their own, but the SDP certainly understands capitalism - theory *and* practice.

Why is it a waste of taxpayer money to intervene if market failure threatens to leave our nation without power? What if our taps run dry because a water company collapses - should the government turn a blind eye to a drought? But of course, the public interest is far outweighed by the need not to intervene in the free market: we should be saving the money for subsidies to those poor arms dealers.

MessageWe're opposed as well. Should a disaster cause one of the tribes to be left without basic necessities, the government needs to help out the people. We can't have people freezing to death in the winter because the nearest gas company somehow blew up or something! The government needs to be there for the people in cases of disaster relief which is what the current system does. As the current law states, it a LAST RESORT and for VITAL services. If the people have no access to these *vital* things, they cannot survive, and we definitely do not want them to die.

MessageIf you understand it then you know damn well why we are opposed to the Federal Government intervening in the market.

MessageOh, we understand the theory of why capitalists would oppose such a measure. It's not in the interests of big business and potential investors to have the government step in to help the populace. Better that the people know what it's like with no services so that investors can charge more next time.
Oh, and we understand the PP's opposition as well. The premise of the right is that government is bad. When in office, they make sure they're proven right. When not in office, they make sure it's as difficult as possible for government to help the people - to whom they're ultimately responsible. We understand the PP's need to whip up hysteria - especially against a government that has cut bureaucracy. We understand the PP's financial need, too, but we assure them them, corporate sponsorship may be the biggest pot out there, but it's possible to win campaigns with virtually no big business support or major media coverage.

But for those on the Tribal Council with any scruples. please, don't enact a law that bans the government from serving the people. No amount of sponsorship is worth the potential harm that a collapsed industry could cause.

MessageMembers of the Tribal Council, the Social Dynamist Party is using the current law that we are trying to overturn to control the businesses of the nation.

If you truly do enjoy a free-market system then I am urging you to support this proposal and to tell the SDP that we do not want socialism in our nation. Our economy is already in ruins thanks to the current administration and now it is time that we repair it.
