MessageMr. Speaker,

We here in the "Holy" Imperial Empire are a very religious nation that is heavily Governed by our Religious leaders and Gods Law. Therefore, it only makes sense to stop this Evil that has been allowed to take place in this Nation, and is done (Currently) whenever and for whatever reason. This Evil is of course Abortion of Human Fetal Babies. This is a violation of natural (Gods Law) and should be stricken from the Holy Imperial Empire by this Noble holy Diet immediately

MessageMr. Speaker,

The OCLW, while acknowledging that most Christians frown upon abortion in general cases, must also acknowledge that, given the dire circumstances which face Luthori's lower class, many children are born into homes suffering from such abject poverty as to allow for no fair chance of advancement in life. These children are robbed before birth of any fair chance at a decent life, and are instead condemned to a fate worse than death.

We must also, of course, recognize that the illegalization of abortion will simply lead to the rise of an illegal market for abortion. Women who greatly desire to terminate a pregnancy will stop at no end to achieve their will: we might as well make sure abortions are performed safely and by licensed hands.

We oppose.

I yield.

MessageMr Speaker,

And again, the SO CALLED CHRISTIAN Luthorian Workers party votes against illegalizing Abortion. I would ask them if they would rather call their Party the Order of Socialist Atheist Luthorian Workers. This makes me sick today.

MessageMr Speaker,

I would also like to point out that the OCLW brings up the point that allowing abortions cuts down on the chances of having children who are born into a world with such extreme poverty and "not have a fair chance at advancement in life", and that they are "Robbed BEFORE BIRTH of ANY FAIR CHANCE AT A DECENT LIFE and are instead CONDEMNED TO A FATE WORSE THAN DEATH". This being the exact words of the OCLW I think that what they need to realize is that what they are indeed talking about is Abortion. I would like to Also Point out that Abortion gives a child a CERTAIN and most DEFINATE killer of ANY chance of life. the OCLW needs to evaluate what they consider "Fair"

MessageMr Speaker,

The Constitutionalist Imperial League strongly supports the bill proposed by our Christian brothers in the CVP. Unlike others, they know that the Church has ruled against abortion time and time again. Our loyal allies in the EAP support liberalism, which is an admirable ideology even if misguided, which advocates personal freedom. However, they do not claim to be a party that supports Christian morality before anything else. For a political party that claims it is a Christian party to vote against restrictions on abortion is shameful and merits excommunication.

Furthermore, Luthorian lower class commoners do not live in abject poverty, that is an outright lie. The lowest classes make around £3,500, which is enormous and Luthori's Gini inequality coefficient is around 25! As a result of free market policies, Luthori has almost no poverty and very low income inequality. It seems the OCLW should be rapidly interrogated for any ties with illegal communist groups such as trade unions.

I yield.

MessageOOC: £1 (1 Luthorian pound) = approx 20 USD.

And IRL, the country with the lowest income inequality is Sweden with a 23 Gini Coefficient. USA is around 40, most of Europe around 30.

MessageOOC: Each of us knows that the mechanics of the Particracy system were never finished, and so to resort to the economics information for numbers other than Gross Domestic Product, etc., proves nothing. The same goes for the Luthori pound = $20. I can as easily state that it equals $0.20 and have as much backing to prove my assertion as you do yours. So rather than rely on broken numbers, we ought to rely on comparisons to the real world, in which we can find verifiable evidence.

Luthori's population is 822,005,143. GDP is £4,598,033,674,064. GDP per capita is £5,593.68. Assuming your exchange rate, this is equivalent to a GDP/capita of $111,873.60. According to the IMF, in 2010 the real world's largest GDP/capita (PPP) was Qatar, at $88,232. To assume an economy which is roughly 1.27 times as powerful per capita as the most powerful nation in the real world is unrealistic.

Also important to take into account is the massive military spending which Luthori funds. This military Keynesianism is first a stark contrast to the Luthori free market character and second entirely unrealistic. The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) Military Expenditure Database reports that in 2008, the world's highest military spending as a percentage of GDP was in the highly militarized states of Georgia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Israel, etc. (North Korea does not report figures, it is assumed they spend the highest amount as a percentage of GDP.) Georgia, the world's highest military spender as a percentage of GDP, spent 8.5% in 2008. Luthori at current spends 19.58% of its GDP on the military. Even if we allow for the fact that Luthori is an imperialist world power, this spending would necessarily cripple other aspects of the nation's economy as it does in North Korea, Georgia, Israel and the rest.

I do not believe, given the ancient social stratification present in Luthori, it is heinous to imagine that there is a deeply deprived lower class upon whose toil the nation eeks out a living. At least no more heinous than the presumptions upon which Luthori roleplay is currently based.
