| Message | Mr. Speaker, It is with a heavy heart and an eye toward peace that I address the Diet today. The Revolution has failed. The World Community Party, in what my party takes to be an action aimed justifiably toward maintaining peace in the face of what threatens to become brutal civil war, has sided with the Imperial Alliance in the formation of a governing coalition. This coalition in effect guarantees the maintenance of the status quo, a disappointing reminder of the power which the Emperor and the aristocracy still hold in Luthori. I do not blame the WCP for their action. They have done what they must in order to prevent Luthori deaths. It is, in fact, the WCP who most thoroughly represents the moderation and compromise that Luthori needs at this crucial turning point in our history. The Alliance has been one of sporadic changes and forceful, unilateral demands. The OCLW has not been blameless in this endeavor and I fear that I too have led the nation to the brink of chaos. For this, I apologize. I still hold the value of republicanism above all else, and in the light of this recent crisis all parties in Luthori must come to terms with the fact that the status quo has been irrevocably changed. But the Alliance does not represent republicanism so much as republican despotism. They use their status as key votes in order to purchase themselves political power, and this despicable abuse of the Diet has led to numberless injuries already. I, therefore, on behalf of my party cast my vote in favor of early elections in the hope that the Luthori populace might gain another opportunity to put democratic reform to referendum. I plead with the Imperial Alliance parties to acknowledge the demands made by the people of Luthori and cede some points to the majority. I plead with the Alliance to abandon the games which they have played with this Diet for some time now. I thank the WCP for being a voice of moderation in a time of chaos, and I resign my post as Chair of the Order of Christian Luthori Workers. I respectfully yield. (Adam Wing, Chair of the OCLW) |

| Message | Mr. Speaker, I wish to respond to the OCLW. The Lives of Luthorians should always be thought of first and foremost. That I believe we all can agree on. The ILA is always willing to seek compromises but it must be pointed out the no time was given for one to be made. The republican parties in this diet attempted to force out the only form of government that Luthori has known. You must understand that is why the reaction was so quick and harsh. Change is not a bad thing. But abrupt change can lead to disaster. And that is exactly what we in the ILA are trying to avoid. The coalition government which is expected to form is not ideal for anyone, but at this point it appears the only choice to save lives. To save normality for the people. And to save Luthori herself.
