MessageWe did support this bill in the past and we brought it to the floor before, however the PP is taking a tougher stance on capital punishment and will only allow the current or proposed verison to be in law. We are choosing to keep the current law intack. We hope this will clear up any confusion-Donald King

MessageReally by our definition this only takes away the ability to sentence murderers to death. We don't agree with the change and will not support it.

MessageMurderers a the only ones who should be sent to death! Serial murderers at that not one off murderers. You wouldn't send a burglar to death or a even a rapist they should just get high imprisonment!

MessageCause Murdering 2 people is not considered mass murder, and we believe you take 2 innocent lifes of this earth then your life is going as well. We are taking a tougher stance on crime

Again this isn't proving me wrong.

MessageThey can in jail for life where they can rot until they die if they murder two people. Capital punishment does not deter anyone sometimes they are happy to die, we shouldn't be allowing that only for extreme cases like terrorism. I would've thought that the Christian Democrats would be against capital punishment entirely doesn't it say in the Bible that only God can take someone's life that is why they are against euthanasia, abortion, etc, this is a double standard here.

Also what part of "An eye for an eye will make us all blind" Don't you understand PP, I can clarify it to you if you would like.

MessageWe thank the People's Party for seeing our reasoning behind this.

Under the current definition of capital crimes, the only thing this bill will take out, is capital punishment for murderers. We will not support this. Besides, the alternative of life in prison, would be yet another burden upon our economy.

I yield.

MessageActually in my quick little research and my expanding of Biblical knowledge; God permits capital punishment for murderers, as they killed one of his creations. Infact, if I was to really live up to my name, we would support the death penalty for much more than the current laws.

However, this hardline stance would be excessive, as it would put to death homosexuals, adultery, rape, etc. Many things we are sure would not be able to pass. Besides every religious doctrine is interpreted in many different ways.

Messageexcept for terrorism, treason and crimes against mankind

Terroism: Someone attacking the country

Treason: Betraying us like giving all of our secerts away to another nation

crimes agasint mankind: Genocide.

Capital crime: Guy who rapes, and murders a little girl by strangling her with her own shoe lace, dumping the body, taking time out to call girls mom to mock her and say "Sally never came home tonight, your little girl is never coming back shes gone forever" then giving where the body is dumped like garabage.

Under your proposal he gets life in prision where we pay for his food, his health if he gets injured. Etc.

(OOC: That example is acctuly true here in CA, he's been on death row for 20 years because of people who say it's an unusual and cruel punishment. The guy should have died years ago)

MessageI already knew what they all meant, thank you very much.

Anyway, how about the people who get sentenced to death but then after an inquest they are actually proved innocent? Imagine how would the family of the person sentenced to death would feel knowing that the government killed them and it wasn't even them who were in the wrong! You cannot take back a life but you can easily let them out of jail if they are proved to be innocent.

OOC: Back when we had the death penalty in the UK, I think it was in the 1830's there was a string of murders in the city of Bristol which is in the west of the country and the police were looking for suspects and about 5 people came into the police station saying "Yeah it was me, execute me, it was my fault" So the police had to find out which one it was but all the versions of the crime were the same! Later they had to make a decision and they executed the wrong person! Imagine the family having to death with that!

MessageWe understand that a person of innoncence might be sentenced to death but to have it so someone who is 100 percent guility not be sentecned to death at all and were paying for his meals and stuff is not right at all. Besides most people who get the sentence have a while on death row before being executed, if we have to we could put a bill to the floor that made it that those sentenced to death for a capital crime are on death row for a minium sentence number for review by a board or committee to make sure their is no doubt they could be innoncent.

MessageWhat would you rather live with: Feeding a guilty man in jail? Or executing an innocent man? The choice is yours, I know what I'd pick. Besides we pay for all criminals meals whether they may be rapists, murderers, burglars whatever, that argument I'm afraid is not a valid one. The death penalty hasn't even been proven to deter crime, so why bother taking away other people's lives when; A) They may be innocent B) They want to die or C) Others will surely follow in their example no matter the consequences. i hope the saying "An eye for an eye will make us all blind" will sink into everyone's head.

MessageWe are surprised for the recent change of mind from the Labour Party, but we will obviously agree. No one should have the right to take someone else's life, and a life in prison is much more punishing than a quick death.
