Message | The PNCA feels that extradition should be handled on a case-by-case basis. We feel it would be a grave mistake to bind ourselves by treaty on the matter of extradition. We oppose the ratification of this treaty. |
Date | 05:21:46, April 04, 2011 CET | From | Pontesian Royalist Party | To | Debating the Ratification of the Interpol |
Message | The PRP is of the opinion that it is worth the loss of some extradition control to gain power over getting some added control over extradition from fellow ratifiers. |
Date | 07:05:57, April 04, 2011 CET | From | Pontesian National Conservative Alliance | To | Debating the Ratification of the Interpol |
Message | We do not agree. We do not think it right that we should be forced to extradite people to countries like Davostan, where the death penalty is applied for minor offences and torture is used at the discretion of the police, or the United Barmenian Sultanates where their backward religious doctrine dictates whether a person should be executed. Both of those countries have ratified the treaty. |
Date | 07:22:53, April 04, 2011 CET | From | Pontesian Royalist Party | To | Debating the Ratification of the Interpol |
Message | The treaty does not supersede national law which would forbid our extradition to them. (OOC: Thank you for insulting Barmenian law, I made most of it. lol) |
Date | 11:20:33, April 04, 2011 CET | From | Pontesian National Conservative Alliance | To | Debating the Ratification of the Interpol |
Message | We would still be required to allow Interpol agents into our nation to find accused criminals from those nations. Once the accused are in Interpol's hands, what happens next? (OOC: I had to. My party of right-wing religious establishmentarians would do just that. Barmenia has a DIFFERENT religion, of course they would be backward! :P) |
Date | 15:55:32, April 06, 2011 CET | From | Pontesian Royalist Party | To | Debating the Ratification of the Interpol |
Message | Interpol would be unable to remove the accused from the nation without permission to travel with prisoners. (OOC: LOL, yeah. My party promotes close ties with Barmenistan, Beiteynu, and Jelbania, nations with substantial Muslim populations.) |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
