Description[?]:

Testimony from Finance Minister Bill Owens to Members of Parliament, regarding the budget and proposed spending cuts.

“Members of Parliament I will not sugar coat this for any of you, this virus has taken a toll on the economy as people are spending less money and the revenue from all of the taxes have dropped including the income from the poor and middle class, people don’t have the money as they did before. People lost jobs, and have jobs now with lower wages, they aren’t paying their taxes.

We lost sales tax revenue from both essential and goods because people are conserving their money now and this is means corporations have less money now and means a reduction in the revenue from the corporation tax because of people not spending money. If people don’t spend money, the economy will go down, however this happens no matter what an economy is a roller coaster and will always do down and then go up. However it is our job to address this issue, and it is my job to advise the President and Parliament of what they should do, I have proposed a new budget that calls for spending cuts. Aloria has never spent this much in history of spending and we can not unless we tax and tax and tax everyone. More revenue comes from the poor and middle class then the rich actually.

Due to some new laws we can’t cut Health and Social Services as they need that funding, education is able to be cut because local governments have control over their testing, instead of the federal government spending billions to create and distubre the tests, I have proposed to cut foreign affairs, to 20 billion, as they only need this kind of budget to operate, internal affairs down to 30 as they only need to keep the other cabinets in line, education and culture down to 95, and justice down to 60, I am cutting my department down to 45 billion as I have left over funds my departments personal budget that we don’t need, I can still run my tax fraud and evasion tax force very well even with the cut

Trade and Industry need the funding to help create jobs, Science and technology still needs this funding for the cure to be developed more (Minister Rose says we cant cut from later) and others one are in adequate funding. I accept suggestions from members of Parliament on if any other cuts if they have suggestion for but, further spending on departments can’t happen right now unless we make more cuts. We have a deficit of 57 billion; my proposed budget will make us have a surplus of 22.3 billion. It is not a huge surplus but it is better then a deficit. I strongly advise not to raise taxes because; if people are suffering they don’t need higher taxes.

I yield”

Message"We actually do need to raise taxes, especially on the rich, the have been doing too well off for far too long and increasing taxes on them is a more fairer alternative then slashing the budget for all of society."

Message"Does the Labour and the rest of the Commies ever stop to think that perhaps the rich have done enough work to enjoy the fruits of their labour? There is a reason they are higher on the income list, they shouldn't be punished for being successful.

As for the budget, this would be a nicer alternative to raising taxes, but still the economy has been shrinking as of late; with the shortfall in budget becoming more and more pronounced as the months pass by."

Message"Do the Christian Democrats and the rest of the toffs ever stop to think that the working class make up a greater amount of society than the toffs do and therefore deserve a greater say? Do they ever stop and think that society doesn't just revolve around toffs and yet they still have the audacity to treat the working class like dirt. Do they also realise since the toffs have the greatest money they are the ones who should pay the largest amount because they can afford it. Instead the CDP just lets them off scott free and lets them bathe in their pools of money while the poor just get poorer.

Message"LP this budget does not do anything to hurt the poor, all welfare programs are intacked and everything. The IA, FA, and Finance does not affect the poor or middle class. The cuts to education is small considering how much they are funded plus local governments control a big hgue part of spending, so we don't have to fund that. It's common sense."-Bill Owens

Random fact: When your party holds the foreign affairs department, you can create new treaties. However, before writing anything new, it is a good idea to search for existing treaties which already accomplish what you desire.

Random quote: "No one today can afford to be innocent, or indulge himself in ignorance of contemporary governments, politics and social orders. The national polities of the modern world maintain their existence by deliberately fostered craving and fear: monstrous protection rackets. The 'free world' has become economically dependent on a fantastic system of stimulation of greed which cannot be fulfilled, sexual desire which cannot be satiated and hatred which has no outlet except against oneself, the persons one is supposed to love, or the revolutionary aspirations of pitiful, poverty-stricken marginal societies like Cuba or Vietnam. The conditions of the Cold War have turned all modern societies - communist included - into vicious distorters of man's true potential." - Gary Snyder
